Read Aloud Delaware is thrilled to announce that we have been selected as the 2025 beneficiary of SALSTHON, the annual student-led fundraising initiative organized by Salesianum, Padua, and Ursuline high schools. Over the past ten years, SALSTHON has raised over $1,800,000 for local non-profit organizations, making a lasting impact on the Delaware community.
SALSTHON, which stands for Students About Life Saving, brings together students from these three schools to support a worthy cause each year. "We are beyond excited and grateful to be chosen as the 2025 SALSTHON beneficiary," said James Spadola, Executive Director of Read Aloud Delaware. "This incredible opportunity will allow us to expand our reach and provide more children with the gift of literacy, empowering them to succeed in school and beyond."
Read Aloud Delaware plans to use the funds raised to purchase and outfit a bookmobile that will serve as a community literacy and book resource. This mobile unit will bring books, reading materials, and literacy programming to underserved areas.
The fundraising efforts leading up to SALSTHON 2025 will include various events and student-led activities, all culminating in an exciting marathon-style event in March.
